Taiwan Association for Food Protection: 2013 Annual meeting which featured an excellent speech regarding food safety for attendees

 

    The Taiwan Association for Food Protection (TAFP) held its 2013 Annual Meeting on February 21st at the Institute of Food Science and Technology, NTU. Fifty-three attendees participated in this annual meeting. Several officers from the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) attended this meeting as VIP attendees. The establishment of the TAFP is something the officers of the TFDA really appreciate, as the TAFP can play the important role of a platform for communication between industry and government. In addition to reporting the business which had been done last year, a prestigious speaker, Prof. Chang-Chuan Chan, who is the Associate Dean of the College of Public Health, was invited to make a speech at this meeting. The title of speech was “Risk Communication on Food Safety”. During the discussion section, many attendees brought up important issues such as the regulation of herbicide residues on agricultural products, among other issues. All attendees were satisfied with this speech and are looking forward to the next activity coming soon.
